Next year is doubly special for classes with years ending in 1 or 6.

It's their Reunion year -- plus the College's Centennial. The College is planning several special events for Reunion Weekend, June 3-5, and classes are also picking up the Centennial theme for their festivities.

But all alumni are welcome to attend the celebration, and the College will host reunions for several affinity groups that cut across all classes, said Sarah Fournier, associate director of Reunion.

The weekend will include special events highlighting the College's 100-year history, and there will be a major keynote speaker, Fournier said. She expects to announce the speaker soon.

Two classes -- 1961 and 1986 -- are marking their own milestone anniversaries. Eight members of the Class of 1961 Reunion Planning Committee were on campus in September to begin planning their festivities. The class discussed all facets of Reunion from the class gift to special Centennial presentations to ways to encourage as many alumnae as possible to return to campus. They are thinking of holding a book talk along with inviting the author to speak, a special presentation at their class dinner and panel discussions.

For its 45th Reunion, the Class of 1966 is highlighting the artistic talents of its members with a special slideshow. Members of the class should send photos of their work to Polly Pierce by Dec. 31. For more information, contact her at piercek@mcttelecom.com.
