Nominees offer diverse backgrounds04/14/2010
Brent Never '99 (pictured), Ken Kabel '76 P'12 and Cynthia Linton Fleming '54 are being considered for <br>the Alumni Association Board of Directors.
The Nominating Committee of the Alumni Association Board of Directors has selected a slate of three candidates to be directors for the 2010-13 term.
A Fulbright scholar, small businessman and therapeutic researcher make up the list of nominees.
The alumni being considered for the Board are Brent Never ’99, Ken Kabel ’76 P’12 and Cynthia Linton Fleming ’54.
The Nominating Committee gave careful consideration to the Alumni Association’s needs in selecting this group from a broad and very qualified pool of candidates. The Committee always welcomes nominations for future board openings.
The candidates named are presented as a single slate according to the bylaws of the Association. Please indicate your vote by either calling 1-800-888-7549 or e-mailing the Office of Alumni Relations at firstname.lastname@example.org no later than June 25.
The Nominating Committee of the Alumni Association Board of Directors includes Ryan Chan ’00, Mark Iger ’75, Travis Reid ’03 and Robin Wilson ’82.
More About the Nominees
Brent Never ’99
Never graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in international relations. He went on to receive his doctorate in public policy from Indiana University. Never currently works at the University of Missouri as an assistant professor of nonprofit leadership within the department of public affairs. As a Fulbright scholar, Never recently returned to campus to participate on a panel discussing his experiences with parents, alumni and students. Never and his wife, Erica, reside in Kansas City, Mo.
Ken Kabel ’76 P’12
After receiving his bachelor’s degree in government in 1976, Kabel went on to receive a master’s degree in business administration from Columbia University in 1981. Kabel currently serves as president and owner of the Oak Hill Carton Company. As a volunteer for the College, Kabel has served as a class agent chair, class agent, club president, admission representative, career mentor and class treasurer. Kabel and his wife Carol reside in Cincinnati, Ohio, with their two daughters Grace '12 and Hope.
Cynthia Linton Fleming ’54
While at the College, Fleming served as president of the sophomore class and chief justice of the honor court. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in child development, Fleming worked for the Gesell Institute of Human Development in New Haven, Conn., and then at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in the therapeutic research department. Her volunteer roles for the College encompass work as a reunion committee member, regional class agent, class agent chair, and admission representative for 20 years. Fleming and her husband, Robert, reside in Scottsdale, Ariz.
