What's your reason?

In honor of the Centennial, the theme for the Annual Fund in 2010-11 is "100 Years, 100 Reasons."

Maybe it should be "100 Years, Hundreds of Reasons."

The Annual Fund is inviting people who make gifts to also jot down their reasons for supporting the College. A third of the way into the year, alumni, parents and students have already submitted more than 100 reasons. They include:

"Great friendships and great teachers."

"Appreciation and to give back."

"Fond memories."

"The response has been tremendous," said Ellen Anderson, director of annual giving programs. "The Centennial is resonating with people. And I think they welcome the opportunity to say what it is that they love about Connecticut College."

The reasons will be highlighted in publications -- both print and online -- through the year.

What's your reason? If you've already made a gift and didn't say, e-mail your name and your reason to annualfund@conncoll.edu.

If you haven't given yet, go to http://giving.conncoll.edu. The giving form includes a place to provide your reason.
