The Connecticut College art department and the adjacent Lyman Allyn Art Museum have teamed up for a provocative exhibit exploring how faculty members conceptualize and create their work – and how teaching influences them.
Honor New London Day is March 1
President Higdon and New London Mayor Martin Olsen '95 cordially invite you to a very special Centennial Celebration honoring New London. The event – Tuesday, March 1, 2011, 4:30-6:30 p.m., at the Harris Building Atrium, 165 State St., New London – commemorates the 100th anniversary of the 1911 fundraising drive that brought Connecticut College to New London.
Join in the festivities, enjoy refreshments and connect with local community leaders and College alumni, students, faculty and staff. A short speaking program begins at 5:30. You also will be invited to view an exhibit at The Provenance Center, adjacent to The Atrium, featuring photography by Connecticut College students, faculty and staff, as well as a selection of historic photographs from the College’s archives.
Join other alumni in your community for “Camels Care,” a National Day of Service on Saturday, April 16. Alumni in 10 cities, including Boston, New York, Washington and San Francisco, are coordinating events. Camels will be volunteering in soup kitchens, cleaning parks and participating in a Habitat for Humanity build.
If you’d like to help – or have an idea for a project in your community – contact Erin Melvin Morrissey at firstname.lastname@example.org or 860-439-2302.
Volunteers needed: help plan your 2012 reunion
Join your classmates on campus June 3-4, 2011 for Insights, our annual program to inform and inspire volunteers who are gearing up for their reunion.
This year’s program will be the weekend of the Centennial Reunion. You’ll experience Reunion firsthand – what better way to see what your class would like than to try it all out – and you’ll help celebrate the Centennial. You'll leave with the tools you need to make your reunion a big success for your classmates.
If your class year ends in ’2 or ’7, details will be e-mailed to you shortly. For more information, visit http://insights.conncoll.edu. Contact Sarah Fournier at email@example.com with any questions.
