Camels Take Two of Three Conference Matches in Maine
Schroff Erupts with 45 Kills in 10 Games for Camels
BRUNSWICK, Maine.--The Connecticut College volleyball team headed north for NESCAC volleyball action at Bowdoin College this weekend. The Camels took two out of three matches, improving to 4-1 in league play and 11-4 overall.
Friday night, the Camels blanked Colby in a 3-0 win. The game scores were 25-17, 26-24 and 25-12 in favor of Connecticut College.
Junior Rachel Schroff (Palos Verdes, Calif.) buried 15 kills and added three blocks with just one error on 29 attempts for an impressive .480 hitting percentage.
Katie Ketcham (San Francisco, Calif.) finished with 22 assists in the triumph.
The Camels dropped a 3-1 decision to Bowdoin Saturday. The game scores were 19-25, 18-25, 25-22 and 14-25.
Schroff recorded a double-double with 12 kills, 10 digs and one ace. Bianca Smith (San Jose, Calif.) chipped in with 11 kills and two aces. Ketcham dished out 24 assists in the setback.
In the final match of the weekend, the Camels tamed the Bobcats of Bates in a 3-0 triumph. The game scores were 25-17, 25-19 and 25-19.
Schroff erupted with 18 kills, four digs and one block in the win. Georgia Naumann (Medfield, Mass.) checked in with six kills for the winning side.
Carly Guiducci (Del Mar, Calif.) had 13 digs in the win. Senior Ally Terlizzi (Mount Kisco, N.Y.) added 10 digs and Ketcham distributed 25 helpers.
