Camels Place 11th Against D. 3 Competititon at All-New England Championship
BOSTON, Mass.--The Connecticut College women's cross country team visited Franklin Park in Boston to compete in the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association Championship against All Division I, II, and III schools in the region.
The Camels placed 34th in the field and were 11th among Division III institutions with a score of 977 points.
Boston College placed three runners in the top five to win the Championship with a score of 38 points. Senior Katie Matthews of Boston University posted a time of 17:18 to win the race as the individual champion.
Connecticut College senior Lindsay Paiva (Coventry, R.I.) completed the course in 20 minutes flat to lead the Camels as the 136th runner. Kerry Dermody (Erieville, N.Y.) finished in 204th place with a time of 20:56. Lianne Swanson (Franklin, Mass.) posted a time of 21:08 as the 213th runner to the finish line.
Junior Michelle Wesley (Millwood, N.Y.) was 215th with a time of 21:09. Nicky Jasbon (Greenacres, Fla.) checked in with a time of 22:01 as the 245th runner. Anne Kearney (Westbrook, Conn.) posted a time of 22:07 in 250th place for the Camels.
In the sub-varsity race, Diana Hines (Lexington, Mass.) posted a time of 21:52 in her best run of the season.
