Tracking the Camels: Head Coach: Jim Ward (Ninth Season) Captains: Sean Curran, Lucas Chavira Schramm Last Season: 7-14-3 (6-12-1 Ninth Place) Key Returnees: (Curran, Sr., F., 17 goals, 10 assists, 27 points); Schramm (Sr., D. 1-4-5); J.J. McGregor (Sr., F., 5-11-16); Julien Boutet (Sr., F., 3-9-12); Steve Servideo (So., F., 4-5-9); Dawson Luke (Jr., D. 2-6-8). Andrew Margolin (Sr.,G. 20 G, 3.42 GAA, .895 Save Pct.); Mike O'Donnell (Sr., F. 4-4-8). The Camels return three of their top four scorers from a year ago, including Curran, a second team All-NESCAC selection who lit the lamp with the highest goal total for the program since 1998. Margolin is a talented backstop who can take pressure of a defense when needed to. If you're looking for intangibles here, chemistry could play a significant factor in this team's success. Due to a high volume of injuries, many players double-shifted or slid from their natural position back to defense to compensate for key losses last year and that experience could prove to be beneficial in this team's make up. Ward's teams are known for playing smart, physical hockey. O'Donnell's return from injury should bolster the front line and he is a player capable of filling the slot area and wreaking havoc down low. McGregor can skate with the top players in the country and proved that at the Oswego/Pathfinder Bank Classic in 2010. After being picked to finish last in 2006-2007, Ward and the Camels defied the odds and began a three-year run that saw the team earn back-to-back top five finishes in the NESCAC. If the Camels can stay healthy, they should find themselves back in the post-season this February. Key Early Season Date: UMass Dartmouth, Home Opener, Nov. 26 Key Road Trip: The Pathfinder Bank Classic at SUNY-Oswego, Dec. 30-31
