Alumni qualify for 2012 Olympic Games01/20/2012
Camels are headed to London! Amanda Clark '05 has qualified for the 2012 Olympic Games in sailing's 470 class (her boat is 470 centimeters long) and Bob Willis '09 has qualified in windsurfing. Qualifying for an Olympic sailing event is a tremendous accomplishment, since each country is allowed just one entry per class of boat. That means beating every other American contender in the event and joining a small, elite group of athletes.
Bob Willis '09
Willis, the only windsurfer on the American Olympic team, is the top-ranked American in the sport. He competed on the Connecticut College sailing team as a student.
This will be the second trip to the Olympics for Clark, who also competed on the College's sailing team and was a two-time All-American as a student.
