#16 Camels Place Seventh out of 18 Teams at Boston Dinghy Cup
BOSTON, Mass.--The Connecticut College coed sailing team headed north to compete in the Boston Dinghy Cup on the Charles River this weekend. It was a successful weekend in Beantown for the 16th ranked Camels, who placed seventh in the 18 team field with a score of 445 points.
Yale University won the regatta with a score of 311 points. Stanford University placed second with 362 points with the Brown Bears taking third with a score of 386 points.
Sophomore skipper Kevin Martland (Newport, R.I.), Ben Bainbridge (West Hartford, Conn.), Grace Medley (Portsmouth, R.I.) and Katie Andril (Arlington, Va.) finished 13th in the A division with a score of 181 points.
Junior skipper Atlantic Brugman (Barcelona, Spain) and Elizabeth Wilsterman (Winchester, Mass.) secured an eighth place finish in the B division with a score of 144 points.
In the C division, junior Peter Miller (Paget, Bermuda) and senior Marina Gluck man (New York, N.Y.) rallied the Camels with a score of 120 points in a fourth place showing.
Heading south on the Connecticut Shoreline, members of the Camel coed team competed in the Owen, Mosbacher and Knapp Trophy regatta at Yale.
Connecticut College scored 197 points to finish ninth out of the 15 teams in the regatta.
Yale University won the regatta with a score of 78 points. The Tufts University Jumbos placed second with a score of 103 points. Brown University finished third with a score of 113 points.
Junior Timothy Clark (Easton, Conn.), IG Schottlaender (Darien, Conn.), Mike Sweeney (New Canaan, Conn.) and Benjamin Meyers (Woodbury, Conn.) sailed to an eighth place finish in the A division with a score of 88 points.
In the B division, Brendan Heussler (Annapolis, Md.) and Step Kapinos (South Hadley, Mass.) scored 109 points en route to their 11th place finish.
