Camels Score Two Upset Victories to Finish 3rd at CWPA Division III Championship
Lampley Garners All-Tournament Honors for Camels
GROVE CITY, Pa..--The Connecticut College women's water polo team placed third at the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III Championship hosted by Grove City College.
Junior Kristin Lampley (Reading, Pa.) garnered All-Tournament honors, pacing the Camel offense by scoring eight goals to go with three steals as the Camels took two out of three matches against higher seeded teams over the course of the weekend.
Friday afternoon, the fifth seeded Camels surprised fourth seeded Macalester in a 6-3 triumph. In the nightcap, the Camels dropped a 13-3 decision to the top seeded and undefeated Wolverines of Grove City.
Saturday afternoon, the upset minded Camels hammered third seeded Wheaton College of Illinois in an 11-4 triumph.
Senior Emily Hunter (Cheshire, Conn.) netted four goals in the weekend's action. Megan Wright (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) and Nicky Jasbon (Greenacres, Fla.) both chipped in with three scores.
Katie Mullaley (Hingham, Mass.) and Kate Jacobson (Collegeville, Pa.) chipped in with single tallies for Connecticut College.
Junior net-minder Pam Lovejoy (Guilford, Conn.) stopped 25 shots between the pipes.
