Brugman Repeats as ICSA All-American for Connecticut College
NEW LONDON, Conn.--For the second consecutive year, Connecticut College junior skipper Atlantic Brugman of Barcelona, Spain has been named to the Intercollegiate Sailing Association (ICSA) Women's All-America Team.
Brugman helped lead the women's program to a fifth place finish at the Sperry/Top Sider ICSA Women's National Championship in Austin, Texas. It marked the second straight year the Camels finished among the top five in the nation.
"Atlantic is a great player to coach," Connecticut College Head Sailing Coach Jeff Bresnahan said. "Her ability on and off the water helps are team succeed. Her communication with her teammates helps everyone sail at a higher level. I am so happy she has been recognized as an All American."
In April, Brugman repeated as a first team skipper on the All-New England Intercollegiate Sailing Association (NEISA) squad.
A Dean's List student with high honors, Brugman is majoring in International Relations at the College.
This past December, Brugman helped coordinate a toy drive for underprivileged children in New London. Brugman also works at the Coffee Grounds, a student-run café on campus and assists with the College's Grounds department.
