The Connecticut College volleyball team will open the 2012 season in Providence, R.I. Friday night with the Johnson and Wales University Invitational. The Camels will play four matches in the Ocean State before they return home to host Roger Williams Tuesday night. Seniors Rachel Schroff and Katie Ketcham will look to continue a winning tradition for a program that has won 18 matches or more for six consecutive seasons. Tracking the Camels: Head Coach Josh Edmed-11th Season Assistant Coach: Laurie Whalen 2011 Finish- 18-9, 6-4 NESCAC (Sixth Place) Key Returnees: Rachel Schroff (Sr., RS/S, Palos Verdes Estates, Calif., 264 Kills, 2.93 kills per set); Katie Ketcham (Sr. , S, San Francisco, Calif., 9.37 assists per set); Bianca Smith (So., OH, San Jose, Calif., 154 kills, 1.69 kills per set); Carly Guiducci (Sr., L/DS, Del Mar, Calif., 109 digs); Anelise Hohl (So., MB, Atherton, Calif., 75 kills, 45 blocks) Edmed's Excellence -Head Coach Josh Edmed is in his 11th season at the helm of the Camel volleyball program. The Camels have made seven consecutive appearances in the NESCAC Championship Tournament and have won 18 matches or more in each of the past six years. Schroff and Ketcham will lead the Camels in the starting line-up. Seven of the 15 players on the squad are in their first season with the program. This group of first year players should see plenty of action. After playing four matches at the JWU Invitational, the Camels will return home to host Roger Williams University Tuesday night in New London.
