Hartford, Conn. --(Trinity College Sports Informtion) Junior midfielder Julian Gocksch (Centerport, N.Y.) had a goal and an assist to lead the Trinity College Bantams to to a 3-0 victory over the Trinity College Bantams in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) men's soccer action this afternoon. Trinity improves to 3-1-1 overall and 2-1-1 in the NESCAC with its first win in three games, while the Camels drop to 1-1-2 overall and 0-1-2 in the NESCAC.
The teams combined for just 12 shots and only six on goal, but Gocksch opened the scoring with a tally from classmate Christian Carrasquillo (Manchester, Conn.) in the 17th minute. Gocksch connected with sophomore midfielder Kody Sun (Broad Brook, Conn.) on a picture-perfect play off a corner kick to give Trinity a 2-0 lead in the 30th minute, and senior captain midfielder Anthony El-Hachem (Vernon, Conn.) converted on a feed by junior forward and younger brother John El-Hachem (Vernon, Conn.) for an insurance goal with just under 30 minutes left to play.
Connecticut College junior Max Nichols (Mill Valley, Calif.) made one save in goal, and sophomore Jason Katz (Middleton, Mass.) had two stops for the Bantams to record his first career shutout.
