Witter Blocks 13 Shots for Camels
NEW ROCHELLE N.Y.--The Connecticut College men's water polo team dropped a 14-9 decision to Iona College Saturday night.
The Camels slip to 1-8 on the season, while the Gaels improve their mark to 3-9.
Junior All-American Clayton Witter (Douglassville, Pa.) had a big night in the loss with 13 blocked shots and a steal. Sophomore All-American Rob Spencer (Chevy Chase, Md.) had a hat-trick with three goals, one steal and one earned ejection. Carlos Heros (Key Biscayne, Fla.) chipped in with two goals, two earned ejections, five steals, an assist and a blocked shot.
Nick DiLeo (Coopersburg, Pa.) scored a goal and added two steals with one earned ejection. Senior Brian Barasha (Fredericksburg, Va.) added two steals, two earned ejections and one score for the Camels. Sam Burns (Albuquerque, N.M.) had a goal and an assist and two thefts.
Junior Jason Robb (Winnetka, Ill.) contributed a goal for Head Coach JJ Addison's squad.
The Camels are gearing up for what should be an exciting Saturday of Fall Weekend, October 6. At noon, it's a Northern Division Showdown as MIT visits Lott Natatorium to renew their rivalry with the Camels. Later on at 4, Coach Addison hosts the Alumni Game.
