Camels Improve to 16-2 with Sixth Straight Win
NEW LONDON, Conn.--The Connecticut College volleyball coasted to a 3-0 victory against Colby College in a NESCAC match played at Luce Field House Saturday.
The Camels, who are ranked #3 in New England, improve their record to 16-2 and are 7-2 in league action with their sixth consecutive win. The Mules fall to 9-8 with a 2-6 mark in conference play.
The game scores were 25-11, 25-14 and 25-22 in favor of the home team.
Caroline Martin (Palo Alto, Calif.) buried eight kills to go with two digs for the winning side. Cailyn Straubel (Dallas, Texas) chipped in with seven kills and 10 digs for the Camels. Anelise Hohl (Atherton, Calif.) contributed seven kills. Senior Katie Ketcham (San Francisco, Calif.) dished out 28 assists for the home team.
On the heels of their 3-2 victory at Wesleyan Friday night, the visiting Mules were led by Natalie Roy (Los Altos, Calif.) who tallied a match-high 27 digs to go with six kills. Emily Varni (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) chipped in with 20 digs for the visitors. Kim Donaldson (Colorado Springs, Colo.) added three kills and six assisted blocks for Colby.
The Camels will host Salve Regina University this Thursday night for a 7:00 p.m. game in New London. The Mules will visit the University of New England this Thursday night for a 7:00 p.m. match up in Biddeford, Maine.
