The upstart Camels have raced out to women's basketball's best start since 1991. With wins last week against Trinity College and Eastern Connecticut State University, the team improves to 10-2.

Upcoming games are:
- Jan. 13: Middlebury (at Connecticut College, 6 p.m.)
- Jan. 14: Williams (at Connecticut College, 2 p.m.)

"We expect to be challenged in every contest and know that we'll need to play intense, unselfish, team-oriented basketball in order to be successful," head coach Brian Wilson said when this season's schedule was announced. "We are extremely excited about the challenges."
Jenn Shinall - one of only two seniors on the team - netted her 1,000th point for the Camels Dec. 5 against Mitchell College. She is just the 12th woman to reach that milestone.
Wilson welcomed one of the top recruiting classes in New England last year. Tara Gabelman '14 notched eight double-doubles and averaged 16 points and 9.1 rebounds in the post while classmate Caitlin Cimino contributed eight points, nine rebounds and three blocks per contest in her final four starts of the year as one of the most improved players on the roster.
The team has also welcomed the addition of assistant coach Dana Simonelli, a Providence College graduate who has a diverse coaching background in the high school and collegiate ranks.
