Midfielder Pat Devlin ’17 has been honored as the New England Small College Athletic Conference Men’s Soccer Player of the Year.

Devlin led the NESCAC with 13 goals, including four game-winners. He ranked No. 20 in the country with a 0.93 goals per game average.

“Pat is as complete a player as I have seen in the NESCAC in my eight years coaching at Connecticut College,” said Men’s Soccer Coach Kenny Murphy.

Devlin is only the second men’s soccer player from Conn to earn Player of the Year honors; Billy Hawkey ’14 received the award in 2013.

For the fourth straight season, Devlin was also named to the All-NESCAC First Team. Teammate Chris Lockwood ’19 was named to the All-NESCAC Second Team.

The College Sports Information Directors of America also honored Devlin for his work in the classroom, naming him to the Academic All-District 2 First Team in men’s soccer. The distinction places him on the national ballot for the 2016 CoSIDA Division III Academic All-America Men’s Soccer Team, which will be selected later this month.
