Connecticut College named a top producer of Fulbrights

Connecticut College has been named a top producer of Fulbright students for 2016-2017, according to the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.

Six students from Conn won Fulbright awards for 2016-2017, placing the College on the Chronicle of Higher Education’s annual list for top-producing bachelor’s institutions, ahead of Williams, Haverford, Vassar and Swarthmore.

"This recognition of Connecticut College as a top producer of Fulbright awards speaks clearly to our long-standing emphasis on providing excellence in international education,” said Jefferson A. Singer, Dean of the College and Faulk Foundation Professor of Psychology.

“Our students are spanning the globe from Spain to Russia to Thailand, among other countries, and they are bringing a commitment to cultural understanding and community engagement," Singer said.

The Fulbright Scholar Program has named Connecticut College a top producer of Fulbrights seven times in the past eight years.

The Fulbright Program is the U.S. government’s flagship international educational exchange program. Fulbright fellows receive round-trip transportation to the host country, a living stipend, research allowances and medical insurance.
