Parents exceed goalIn unprecedented giving, CC parents raised $507,225 for the College in 2005-06, surpassing a $500,000 goal set by the Parents Committee. According to Assistant Director of Annual Giving Brandy Kolmer, the successful campaign represents the highest level of parent giving in the College's history. Total contributions are up $85,000 from last year and signify increased participation with 30 percent of current parents supporting the College, up from 20 percent last year. Leading the campaign were members of the Parents Committee, who contributed with 79 percent participation. The Parents Fund is an important component of the Annual Fund, which supports all aspects of the College's programs and operations, from student activities to library books and financial aid. For 2005-06, the Annual Fund exceeded its $4 million goal by $130,000. For Connecticut College, which operates with a $102.1 million budget in 2006-07, annual giving supplements income from the College endowment, student tuition and grants.
