CC News David Dorfman will move his renowned New York dance company to CC. A record number of students—an accomplished and diverse group—has applied for admission to the Class of 2011. A CC senior and the College's director of recruiting were quoted in a Jan. 23 Wall Street Journal article about the strengthening job market for the Class of 2007. Eliza Cooper '08 can do just about anything despite being blind. But she and other visually impaired people can't "read" U.S. paper currency. Cooper is working to change that. Harold D. Juli and Walter F. Brady, iconic professors who taught at CC a combined 67 years, have passed away. A campus service for Professor Brady will be held March 3 at 11:30 a.m. in Harkness Chapel; Professor Juli's is not yet scheduled. A colleague of Walter Brady's wrote in tribute, "[He enjoyed] even the simplest occasions and events. If there was a beautiful sunset or a full moon, Walter had seen it. If the flowers were blooming on campus, Walter had admired them, and if there was a brisk southwesterly wind, Walter had been out sailing that afternoon." Three alumni took honors at the Sundance Film Festival last month, two for documentaries and one for drama. CC observes Black History Month by starting a new tradition—and looking back.
