It’s spring break, and students are scattered around the globe for work and fun. They return Monday for an unusually busy spring, capped for seniors by Commencement May 21.   • School's out. Students, faculty put two free weeks to good use.
  • 'An elegant prophet.' Cornel West, one of America's leading intellectuals, will be on campus April 21-22 for a symposium devoted to his views on the future of democracy.
  • Are there camels at the South Pole? Three CC students prove that the answer is yes.
  • Hoop dreams. Katy Serafin '08 leads a young basketball team with a promising future.
  • Stewards of the environment. A family with three generations of CC alumnae honors Karla Heurich Harrison '28 with a gift to the Goodwin-Niering Center.

Five alumni with jobs at HBO, ESPN, CNN and Current TV will be on campus April 7 for a panel discussion, "Made for TV: The Reality of Broadcast Journalism," at 4 p.m. in Olin 014. The event is open to the public.
