High School Tutorial and After School Program Coordinator
- Return from summer vacation early for OVCS staff training.
- Be responsible for recruitment of potential tutors through
the OVCS Volunteer Fair, campus publications and active
one-on-one recruiting.
- Conduct placement interviews with potential tutors, during
which they are informed of the volunteer application process
and of their duties and responsibilities as tutors.
- Fill out all van documentation for tutors and keep them
informed of any changes that occur with the OVCS transportation
system.
- Deliver and distribute Tutor Request Forms with the assistance
of the OVCS Staff Program Director to schools that participate
in the tutorial program.
- Continually work with identified school/agency personnel
to ensure that teachers and other school/agency personnel
are aware of all program policies and procedures.
- Organize and implement tutor training sessions with the
OVCS Staff Program Director at the beginning of each semester,
as well as supplemental sessions throughout the year.
- Meet weekly with OVCS Staff Program Director to discuss
programmatic any other relevant issues.
- Monitor tutorial placements with written and telephone
documentation logs on a biweekly basis. These logs are turned
in to and discussed with the OVCS Staff Program Director
at weekly meetings.
- Develop and maintain a database of program information
including a list of tutors, participating schools/agencies,
schools and names of teachers who request/have tutors, etc.
This database is updated regularly so that accurate information
is readily available.
- Distribute and collect evaluation forms from appropriate
school/agency personnel as well as participating Connecticut
College students at the end of each semester.
- Inform school/agency personnel and tutors about school
closings, vacations and holidays.
