OVCS Staff

As the Intern Coordinator/Administrator for OVCS, Luis Rodríguez Torres works as a liaison between the CC and New London communities in order to cultivate a more effective working relationship. Through his efforts, students are able to find quality service placements within the local community, which in turn enhances the capacity of those partner organizations. He also coordinates OVCS mentor programs, oversees office administration, and plans events.

A native of Ponce, Puerto Rico, Luis came to OVCS due to the way that the Office “encourages and provides opportunities for students to put their knowledge and leadership skills into action.” He goes on to express the belief that “these opportunities also allow students to gain new experiences and develop new talents.”

Luis graduated from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras’ Campus, with a B.A. in History and a Minor in Education. He looks forward to continuing to develop “opportunities that promote active citizenship, diversity, tolerance and goodwill on campus and in the community.”
