Constitution Day

September 17

Constitution DayUnder the terms of federal legislation passed in 2004, all colleges and universities that receive federal funding must recognize Constitution Day each year for the students served by the educational institution, to commemorate the signing of the U. S. Constitution on Sept. 17, 1787.

In recognition of this historical event and document, Connecticut College's Shain Library staff has created a display of books highlighting the Constitution and related issues. Located on the main floor of Shain Library, the display is open to the College community and the general public throughout the month of September.
