Advising FAQ for Students and Faculty Advisers

For you, the student:

Because the process of planning an academic career can sometimes be confusing, we've put together a list of frequently asked questions (FAQ) and their answers.  Referring to this list, structured alphabetically by subject, will help you to navigate your academic life by providing brief answers to some of the most common questions students have.  Fuller explanations, when necessary, can be found in the college catalog. 

Be sure to see your advisor for anything not covered here.  As always, the academic deans will be happy to help as well.

We hope you will find these frequently asked questions (FAQ) useful.  The list is arranged alphabetically by topic and will provide a brief guide for you as you help your advisees navigate their academic lives. This list of questions supplements the Faculty Advising Handbook, accessed by the Related Link at right.  Fuller explanations for most of the questions are in the college catalog.
