Program for Parents and Families

Program for Parents and Families

Freshman Orientation includes a program for parents and families on Arrival Day, Saturday, August 23, 2008.

Your student will check in at the 1962 Room on the first floor of the College Center at Crozier-Williams. Representatives of local banks and the student health insurance plan will be available for questions. You are also invited to the Oasis snack shop on the first floor to meet the Associate Dean of Studies for Freshmen and Sophomores, members of the Parents Council and other staff.

You will also have opportunities to learn about our Career Enhancing Life Skills (CELS), take a tour of campus or visit the Athletic Center where a new fitness center is under construction.

After lunch (free of charge to families), we invite you to attend the President's Assembly, where you will hear from the president, dean of admission and financial aid, associate dean of studies for freshmen and sophomores, and the president of the Student Government Association.

Following the assembly, there will be information sessions on various aspects of the academic program and student life. The day will end with a reception before students and families say their goodbyes and parents leave campus at about 5 p.m.

If your student is attending the optional Genesis or Odyssey pre-orientation programs, these will also have parent component. More details on these programs will be sent to students during the summer.
