Genesis
A pre-orientation program
Genesis is a pre-orientation program for underrepresented students, including students of color and first-generation college students. The program is also open to any student with a strong commitment to advancing diversity and acting as an ally to underrepresented students at Connecticut College.
The Genesis pre-orientation program will be held Aug. 21-22, 2008.
Participants can move into their rooms on Aug. 21 between 1-2 p.m. and the program starts at 2:15. The program includes a segment for parents and guardians, giving them an opportunity to meet with the academic deans and administrators from the College's career-planning program, health services, counseling services, student life, financial aid and other important offices on campus.
More details about Genesis will be available in mid-June. For more information or to sign up, contact Elizabeth Garcia, Dean of Multicultural Affairs and Unity House director, at egarcia@conncoll.edu or 860-439-2624.
A listing of overnight accommodations for families can be found in the Parents' Handbook, which is mailed to parents/families, or you can consult the same online suggested list of accommodations.
