Laboratory safety depends on everyone's participation and cooperation and their commitment to safety awareness and safe work practices. The "Prudent Practices in the Laboratory: Handling and Management of Chemical Hazards: Updated Version" is an excellent resource, and is considered to be the "go-to" reference for laboratory safety. (Here's a downloadable PDF version of the book).

YouTube has a large collection of videos that illustrate various laboratory safety practices and hazards. These videos are not intended to replace individual instruction from a qualified person. For training and guidance, contact the laboratory's responsible faculty member, or the Office of Environmental Health & Safety.
