The OVCS Art Program

The Art Program, created by Connecticut College students, is a collaboration among New London after-school programs and OVCS.

Connecticut College students meet with children for weekly art sessions designed to assist children in expressing their emotions and feelings in non-violent ways through creative art.

Our students create a nurturing, non-competitive, non-threatening environment and teach art skills in a variety of artistic mediums.

An Art Program student coordinator works with the Connecticut College Art Program student mentors and OVCS staff to create and implement a variety of artistic activities — from building gingerbread houses to painting classes, and arts and crafts to dance lessons.
