Environment and Science
ARBO Project
A Connecticut College student-designed and developed environmental education program in the Arboretum. Connecticut College students lead groups of children, youth, or adults on tours through the Arboretum while engaging in a hands-on educational activity.
McCourt Memorial Garden, Inc.
A Williams Street memorial garden (where students work) and an education area for bird study. Connecticut College students assist with garden work, development of bird houses and help to run educational events for children.
Mystic Aquarium
Connecticut's number-one tourist attraction offers many displays, education programs and research programs. Connecticut College students work in the animal care and research division, assist in research projects and teach the public.
New London Parks Conservancy
A public-private partnership dedicated to park restoration, preservation, beautification, maintenance, usage and the safety of New London’s park system.
Save Ocean Beach, Inc.
An organization dedicated to the preservation and restoration of Ocean Beach Park. Connecticut College students participate in special projects in groups to plant trees, restore the grounds, do clean-ups, etc.
Science Epicenter & DNA Learning Center
A private, non-profit educational institution devoted to hands-on interactive learning for all ages. Students are involved in animal care, database use, and program support. The Epicenter also needs a DNA lab assistant, aquarium assistant, and a volunteer to work the front desk.
