Carly is passionate about access to quality, comprehensive education and health care.  OVCS and community learning played large roles in Carly’s Connecticut College experience and she looks forward to facilitating those opportunities for current students. Carly feels strongly about strengthening the connection between campus life and the greater New London community.

Carly is originally from Barrington, Rhode Island.

Michael Boswell

Michael Boswell is pleased to continue serving the New London community as an AmeriCorps*VISTA Education Outreach and Environmental Coordinator at OVCS.  As an undergraduate student, Michael worked in OVCS and participated in Project Kids, Books, and Athletics (KBA).  Both of these activities helped him see and better understand the New London community which was his home away from home for 3 years.

After graduating from Connecticut College in May 2010 with a degree in Italian Studies, he looks forward to giving back to the community both during his year as a VISTA and into the future.  Michael was inspired by the caring and loving actions of his family, particularly his parents who demonstrated what it means to be a member of a community by being actively involved.   His goal is to have the students of gain a similar understanding of community through the partnerships with local organizations.

Michael is originally from Woburn, Massachusetts.
