How to get involved

We encourage you to become involved in any of dozens of ways, all significant, that you can contribute to the life of this wonderful College. The means of involvement are various; the intent is to share the extraordinary strengths of our families with all students.

Beginning with Freshman Orientation, during which there is a Program for Parents and Families, the College then offers wonderful programs during Family Weekend in the Fall and throughout the academic year.

There are many ways for parents to become active: speaking on campus about your career, offering a place for a student on an internship to live, supporting our athletic teams or serving on the Parents Council.

Consider sponsoring an internship. Connecticut College students have an opportunity to take an internship related to their field of study the summer after their junior year. CELS, the Office of Career Enhancing Life Skills, helps place the students and provides a stipend of up to $3,000 to cover expenses while the student is away from home and campus. Students are eager for placements arranged through Connecticut College parents, especially if they might serve as a mentor or help make contacts with others in a given field.

Whatever your level of involvement, the College is grateful, and our entire College community benefits.
