<title><![CDATA[ Librarian for Special Collections and Archives ]]></title> 
<description><![CDATA[ <p align="left">CONNECTICUT COLLEGE, a highly selective private liberal arts college, located in the historic seaport of New London, seeks an experienced Librarian to manage the college archives and records management programs; recommend policies; plan and implement procedures; provide reference services for the college archives and serve as its principal contact with administrative and academic offices.</p>
<p align="left">In collaboration with the Director, s/he will be responsible for planning departmental activities, creating and managing digital projects and developing grant proposals; participate in College records management development activities, including records classification, retention scheduling and shipping to and retrieval from off-site storage; work with college offices to identify, evaluate and preserve legal and administrative documents; assist with college exhibits, events and programs; provide instruction and assistance to classes; develop and design college archives web site; regularly archive college website and maintain digital files; instruct and supervise student workers and volunteers;&nbsp; maintain current professional and technical knowledge through training and participation in professional organizations/publications; other duties as assigned or as necessary.&nbsp;</p>
<p align="left">Accredited Master degree in library or information studies with 1-3 years of applicable archival experience required; excellent written and verbal communication skills with knowledge of archival theory/methodology and records management practice.&nbsp; Candidate must also be proficient in the use of integrated library systems, information databases, standard productivity software and archival digitizing equipment and techniques, EAD and web editing software.&nbsp; Some travel required.</p>

<title><![CDATA[ Accounts Receivable/Accounting Assistant ]]></title> 
<description><![CDATA[ <p>CONNECTICUT COLLEGE, a highly selective, private liberal arts college, seeks a detailed orientated individual to work in the College&rsquo;s accounting department where they will be processing and overseeing the student billing/cash collections function.&nbsp; The successful candidate will process cash receipts and handle other miscellaneous duties related to the operation of the cashier function, assist the Bursar with student account/miscellaneous receivable administration, loan administration, and provide administrative support to the Accounting Office.</p>
<p>Responsibilities include:&nbsp; post and reconcile payments to proper ledger accounts and student accounts; verify deposits of Advancement gift proceeds; review all deposit transactions, and follow-up with departments on any discrepancies; balance daily cash receipt batches and reports between general ledger and cash drawer; communicate with students, parents, faculty, staff, and third-parties regarding tuition bills/student loans and miscellaneous accounts; field phone calls and monitor department e-mail communications; assist the Bursar with billing and collections, as needed and maintain various institution loan collection processes; provide customer service to borrowers; act as liaison with third-party student loan servicing company and the College&rsquo;s external collection agencies; collaborate with Financial Aid on the servicing of student loans; request credit balance refunds from the Senior Financial Accountant, as needed; provide administrative support to the Accounting Office and assist the accounting staff with vendor invoices/payment requests and employee timesheets/leave report processing.</p>
<p>High School diploma and 1 to 3 years of experience in higher education accounts receivable and/or office administration procedures required.&nbsp; Strong written and oral communication skills, strong analytical skills, detail oriented, well-organized, able to work under pressure and interact well with a variety of people from all parts of the college community,&nbsp; knowledge of general office equipment and high integrity needed to handle confidential information</p>

<title><![CDATA[ Programmer ]]></title> 
<description><![CDATA[ <p>CONNECTICUT COLLEGE, a highly selective private liberal arts college, seeks a skilled programmer to work within our Information Services division.&nbsp;</p>
<p>The ideal candidate will be responsible for the development, maintenance, documentation and installation of administrative systems and technology, which support administrative business needs of the College.&nbsp;&nbsp; S/he will provide quality programming development for assigned applications by working with campus partners and the project manager; review and analyze data needs consistent with the institution data model; develop, modify and document computer programs; identify issues and problems impacting systems and conducting effective program testing.&nbsp;&nbsp; In addition the programmer will develop a working understanding of on-going functional business operations; prepare and educate campus partners for installation and maintenance of systems; maintain and develop technical competency by learning and using new software, programming languages and software tools.&nbsp;</p>
