Dear Members of the College Community, Connecticut College's open and inclusive community is defined by a nearly 100-year-old Honor Code that calls us to uphold the highest academic and community standards.
Respect in all its forms is a core value at Connecticut College, as it must be in any thriving community. The College’s mission— to “educate students to put the liberal arts into action in a global society”—is undergirded by a set of community-oriented values. The liberal arts teach students to respect diverse thoughts and opinions, and in our residential liberal arts college setting, students learn to respect others whose backgrounds and identities differ from their own. At Connecticut College, we also stress Sexual Respect, the caring for self and others that results in healthy, harmonious, and consenting relationships.
