Welcome! We are happy that your interests have led you to the Education Department's “For Students” webpage where we provide links to give you a sense of our offerings. In addition to reading this page and others, we encourage you to get in touch with us directly to express your interest in Education and to ask any questions you may have.

You can read about all our courses on our Education Course Offerings web page and in the College's Course Catalog. Learn more about when the courses are being offered by consulting the College’s class schedules.

The Education Department offers a range of courses each semester. Every fall and spring, we offer at least one section of our "gateway" course, EDU223: Foundations of Education. This course is open to first- and second-year students campus-wide and is a core course for the major and minor in Educational StudiesIn addition to EDU223, we offer a range of other courses. Students pursuing teacher certification may—by necessity—receive enrollment priority in some courses; however, enrollment in many courses may also be available to other students.

Please know that many of our students study away and engage in all kinds of extracurricular activities. We work with our students to make sure they can complete the Educational Studies major or minor while also taking advantage of all that Connecticut College has to offer.

We look forward to seeing you in courses and working to support you in reaching your goals, potentially as future K-12 educators!
