Join Dublin Guitar Quartet for a concert Oct. 25

The celebrated classical guitar ensemble will be on campus teaching and performing all week. The celebrated Dublin Guitar Quartet, a classical guitar ensemble that plays contemporary classical music, will perform as part of the onStage at Connecticut College series Oct. 25 at 7:30 p.m. in Evans Hall.

Meet President Higdon in San Francisco, Hollywood

President Higdon is coming to San Francisco and West Hollywood the first week of November.

Join alumni, parents and friends of the College for a reception to say farewell to our retiring president on Tuesday, Nov. 5, at the Omni San Francisco, 500 California St. The event will take place from 6:30-8 p.m. Parking will be available across the street at the Shorenstein Parking Garage.

Join alumni and parents for a reception and farewell talk by the president on Thursday, Nov. 7, at Lucas Studio Inc. Interior Design at 752 N. La Cienega Blvd in West Hollywood, Calif. The event will take place from 6:30-8 p.m. Valet parking will be available. Special thanks to Joe Lucas ’95 for hosting this event.

Paintings by Associate Professor of Art Pamela Marks are featured in the exhibit “Certifiably Organic,” which runs through Nov. 17 at the Watershed Galley in Ridgefield, Conn. 

Learn about careers in security and intelligence at next Sundays with Alumni event

The next Sundays with Alumni event, Sunday, Nov. 3, will feature alumni working in the national security, cyber-security, intelligence and counterterrorism fields.

Have a student shadow you at work

Job shadowing is an Alumni Association program that matches students with alumni in career areas of interest to them. Students selected are hosted for a full or half day at the workplace of interested alumni. Interested in hosting a current student at your place of work? Contact alumni.relations@conncoll.edu.

Network with entertainment and media pros in January

The next meeting of the Alumni Association’s Entertainment and Media Networking Group (open to all alumni) is scheduled for Jan. 16 (location and time to be determined) following the group’s successful inaugural event Oct. 3 in Santa Monica.

The group got together at the Jonathan Club in Santa Monica for a panel discussion moderated by David Stern ’79, partner, Jeffers Mangels Butler & Mitchell LLP. Panelists included: Alex Katz ’96, co-executive producer of “The Biggest Loser”; David Lonner P’16, owner/CEO of Oasis Media Group; and Deborah Liebling ’81, studio executive and independent producer at Red Hour Productions.

More than 40 alumni and parents attended.
