Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff,

Welcome back to the second half of the fall semester. I hope the brief fall break and the change to your daily routine were rejuvenating for all of you.

While the campus was quiet, many of us have been preparing for a special fall meeting of our Board of Trustees. In addition to our regular business, we will be marking a significant milestone—the launch of the public phase of the College’s next fundraising campaign. As such, we will be honoring all those leaders who have made significant gifts to the College in support of the priorities outlined in our strategic plan.

Some of you will have seen tents being set up between Shain and Cro, where we plan to hold a series of outdoor talks with students and faculty presenters, as well as an outdoor lunch and reception for our guests on Friday. The 1962 Room is being set up for a dinner where our Board of Trustees, along with campaign leaders, will honor those across the Conn community who have supported the College during one of the most challenging periods in our history.

These supporters are current and former trustees, alumni, parents, friends, and foundation leaders. They have been invited to meet together for the first time as the Board of Trustees formally launches this historic campaign.

We are planning a larger event for the whole campus in late April, where we will also be able to celebrate the re-opening of Palmer Auditorium.

Please note that on Friday, our trustees and guests will be following the same health protocols we have established for all campus visitors. As an additional precaution, everyone will receive a BinaxNOW COVID-19 rapid test on arrival to ensure our collective health and safety.

This promises to be a great weekend marking the most ambitious campaign Conn has ever pursued. I look forward to reporting on the meetings next week.

Sincerely,

Katherine
