The REAL Student Staff positions are of great importance for the Residential Education and Living Office as they are the face and voice of the department. As such, all REAL Staff members must be committed to the mission of the REAL Office, which is to foster and inspire strong, inclusive communities; encourage and support students in their academic, social, and personal growth; help students develop skills to succeed in a diverse, global society; and promote the appreciation of diversity. 

If you are interested in joining our team, please look for emails from our office with instructions for applying, and this website.  Students studying abroad in the spring semester, and therefore unable to participate in the general process, will receive a targeted invitation to apply during a mini November process.  Please see the general process timeline below:

Spring Timeline for 2021-2022 Process:

Application Available: February 18, 2021

Info Session 1: February 17, 2021 at 1pm via Zoom

Info Session 2: February 22, 2021 at 7pm via Zoom 

Application Due: March 5, 2021 at 12:00pm NOON

Interviews Begin: March 9, 2021

Decisions Released: March 30, 2021

Agreements Due: April 9, 2021 at 12:00pm NOON

Application process:

To apply, fill out the REAL Student Staff Application. If you are a new applicant, you will participate in Group Process, which is an afternoon of leadership building, problem-solving, and creativity. 

You will also need a letter of recommendation from a current REAL Student Staff Member.
