Dining Services Changes

Dear Members of the Connecticut College Community,

With the College being at the Modified Green Alert Level, Dining Services will begin to open up LIMITED seating for students only in Harris Refectory and the 1962 room.  This change will be phased in over the next few days. Harris can accommodate 99 students in a socially distanced manner, while the 1962 room can seat 49 students.

Starting at lunch on Tuesday, Oct. 20, there will be limited seating available on a FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE basis at Harris Refectory. To maintain social distancing and maximize seating availability, there will be a 30-minute time limit to stay in the dining room. All students must remain six feet apart. It is vitally important that no furniture be moved, and that students follow the signage and direction of the dining staff and sit where directed. Sections will be occupied in waves to allow the dining staff to clean each area before opening it back up to other students.

We are excited to offer this in-house seating option, however we expect that there will be times when all the seats are full and students will need to take their food to go. There is no waiting in line for seating and all food will still be served on the disposable serviceware.

Please help make this next step a success by following the directions of the dining staff.

On Thursday, Oct. 22, the same process will begin in the 1962 room. All the same guidelines will apply in this space as in Harris.

We will continue to add additional menu options throughout the semester, including:

  • Friday Burger Bar
  • Ice Cream Sundae events
  • Caesar Salad Bar
  • Thai Lettuce Wrap Bar
  • Wings!
  • Pasta Bar
  • Taco Salad Bar
  • Baked Potato Bar
