Return to Work Update

Dear Faculty and Staff,

Over the last several days, Governor Ned Lamont’s Reopen Connecticut Advisory Group has issued new COVID-19 operating guidelines for economic sectors and employers, including opening offices. I have received a number of questions about this latest information and wanted to provide an update on what it means for Conn.

The State’s guidance across all sectors is clear—employees should continue to work from home where possible. All College employees who currently work remotely should continue to do so until further notice. As I have mentioned in previous communications, any Conn employee who is not a critical staff member and needs to come to campus must secure authorization in advance and be prepared to present Connecticut College identification (Camel Card) at the main entrance to the College. Contingent on changing guidance from the state, we expect this campus access protocol and our current teleworking schedule to continue throughout the summer.

The Governor’s Task Force also recommends a phased reopening of colleges and universities in Connecticut. The Academic Continuity, Continuity of Campus Life and the Business Continuity working groups are reviewing these guidelines and protocols, and we will provide an update in coming weeks.

Please let me know if you have further questions.

Stay safe and be well,

Rich Madonna
Vice President for Finance and Administration
