Message from the Dean of Students: Boxes, Post Office, Transportation, Health and Counseling

Dear Students,

It now seems to have turned into a daily email--so here is your next update message from me!

I hope that everyone is doing well. I will say that for me and my colleagues it is difficult to see you all move out so early in the semester but we are eager to begin to reconnect with you in a remote manner soon. Beginning next week, staff will be in touch with you to begin developing ways to re-engage with groups, committees, and work involving other initiatives that were in process. Stay strong and follow the CDC guidelines for social distancing!

I have a few updates for you tonight.

Boxes and Supplies
Facilities is redistributing boxes across campus to make sure that there are enough in each lounge. They also ordered more tape which is coming in tomorrow by noon. If there isn't tape in your area then you can come to Cro and pick up tape at the info desk or use the white boxes that are stacked in Cro--these white boxes self-assemble and don't require tape.

Post Office Update
The Post Office asked me to remind you to update all your automatic shipments for prescriptions, subscriptions, and anything else that you have sent to the College automatically and have them sent to the address you will be at for the rest of the semester.

Also, their hours for the rest of the week and weekend are 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Transportation
The remaining scheduled shuttles for this week are the following:

  • Tuesday, March 17: Shuttle leaves Cro at 7 a.m. for JFK and another shuttle leaves for PVD at 7 a.m.
  • Wednesday, March 18: Shuttle leaves Cro for JFK at 7 a.m.

If you need a shuttle to JFK or PVD after the 18th then please email transportation@conncoll.edu and include your name and the time of your flight.

Health and Counseling
Many of you have had questions about health and counseling. We are preparing a message on each that will go out to you soon. Please be patient as we finalize these two important messages.

Go Camels!
