New COVID-19 Campus Guidance for Spring 2021

Dear Students,

Last week, I sent you a message about the onboarding process. For those of you planning to come to campus, I hope you took the opportunity to watch the video and review the To Do List. Your preparation for returning to Conn starts this week with self-isolation to avoid contracting the virus in the two weeks prior to your arrival.

Today, I share with you a new Student Guidance webpage that will help you understand what life on campus will be like in the coming semester. We have consolidated the most important information into one resource for your convenience. Reviewing this material now will help guide you throughout the spring.

Working together, we learned a great deal in the fall about how to have a successful semester. We also listened to your feedback about not just what worked well but also what we could do better, and we have incorporated your ideas into our plans. We will continue to refine our protocols, too, based on the conversations we are having with our partners in the medical and public health fields.

Now, with just two weeks before we welcome you back to the new semester, we know you and your family have questions. I invite you to join me and my colleagues for a special Student and Family Spring 2021 Town Hall on Jan. 28 at 7:30 p.m. The agenda will include a review of the fall semester data, highlights of our spring protocols and a Q&A.

I’ve been talking to many of you over the past couple of weeks, and it is wonderful to hear your enthusiasm about restarting the term, either in person or remotely. Please make a point of reviewing the Path Forward site on a regular basis to stay well informed. If we all continue our efforts to keep the community safe and healthy, I have no doubt we will have another successful semester.

I look forward to seeing you via Zoom or in-person on campus very soon.

Go Camels!
