Response Needed: Vaccination Survey

Dear Students,

I need your assistance in completing a very brief three question survey about your intentions related to getting the COVID-19 vaccine.

As I noted in my message to you on Monday, Connecticut is tentatively planning to move up the date–to April 5–when people ages 16 to 44 are eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. As a result, it appears that we may be able to offer you the opportunity to get your vaccine before you leave campus for the summer. While there is no guarantee, we are doing everything we can to make this possible.

To help us develop our vaccination process we need to know your intentions. Your input will help us with our immediate planning related to the vaccination process and with longer-term academic and residential planning for fall 2021. This message is going out to all students regardless of where you are--on-campus, living in the New London area, or remote at home so that we have a sense of everyone's intentions.

As you consider your plans, it is important to note that getting vaccinated is not required at this time, but it is a critically important way to keep you, your family, our campus community and our neighbors safe. It will also enable us to open up our campus to the fullest experience possible for students, staff and faculty as quickly as possible. In the coming weeks, we will have more information to share with you.

Please take a moment before the end of the day on Friday to answer three quick questions on this survey.

Thank you for taking the time to respond!

Sincerely,

Victor Arcelus
Dean of Students
