Visitor Guidance

Last updated Jan. 14, 2022

As we welcome all students, faculty and staff back to campus for the Spring 2022 semester, there are changes to some of our campus COVID-19 protocols. The new protocols will be effective January 17, 2022. Visitors are permitted on campus but must be hosted by a faculty/staff member or student; or, they may visit the College through a coordinated admissions event or other College program. Please note that life on campus may change based on our COVID-19 alert level. Check our Covid-19 Dashboard for the latest information.

 VISITORS AND GUESTS

Depending on the College’s alert level, visitors are permitted on campus but must be hosted by a faculty/staff member or student; or, they may visit the College through a coordinated admissions event or other College program.

The College is defining visitors and guests differently:

  • A visitor is a person who is coming to campus for a short period of time and is not staying overnight
  • A guest is a person who is staying overnight at the College

Visitors are permitted on campus and must be hosted by a faculty/staff member or student; or, they may visit the College through a coordinated admissions event or other College program.

All visitors to the campus are expected to complete the Visitor COVID-19 Attestation Form Spring 22. Faculty, staff and student hosts are responsible for sharing this form with their visitor and collecting it from them. The signed form should be dropped off to the Campus Safety Gatehouse or a scan/photograph of the signed form can be emailed to studentlife@conncoll.edu (in the subject line, please write “Visitor COVID-19 Attestation Form”).

The form sets certain expectations for visitors–in order to protect the health and safety of our employees, students and community, all visitors are required to attest that they:

  • Have with them COVID-19 related documentation required by the College (see below),
  • Have performed a self-screening for COVID-19 symptoms, and
  • Have reviewed and agreed to abide by the COVID-related protocols provided below and on the College’s COVID-19 Path Forward website.

Visitors will need to attest to having with them one of three of the following forms of documentation listed below. These documents will not be collected by the College, unless specified ahead of time, but it is expected that visitors have the documentation accessible should they be asked for it.

  • Documentation of being fully vaccinated (including a booster)

or

  • Documentation of a negative COVID-19 PCR test within 72 hours of arriving on campus or a negative antigen test within 24 hours of arriving on campus.

or

  • Documentation of having had COVID-19 within 90 days of arrival on campus but the visit to campus is not within 10 days of diagnosis.

If you or your department are hosting an event (e.g. speaker, performance) that will be open to the public, then the host(s) of the event is responsible for setting up a check-in area. At the check-in area, campus community members need to show their Camel ID demonstrating that they are part of our vaccination and testing protocols. Those without a Camel ID are required to complete the Visitor COVID-19 Attestation Form. If possible, please share the visitor attestation form with attendees ahead of time.

Unvaccinated dependent children: On the rare occasion that a faculty or staff member needs to bring their unvaccinated dependent children to campus, the children must be masked indoors at all times. Masking is recommended for unvaccinated children in outdoor spaces, especially when they might encounter people who are not part of their family. The visit should be brief and preferably outside.
