African History - Adjunct Assistant Professor

The Department of History at Connecticut College invites applications to teach two courses on African History in the spring, 2021. We seek a colleague who is an excellent teacher and is enthusiastic about working closely with students in a liberal arts context. The two courses are:  HIS103 AFRICAN CIVILIZATIONS TO 1870, and HIS245 MODERN AFRICAN HISTORY, 1870-PRESENT. Classes meet twice a week. The successful candidate should be an advanced ABD or have a Ph.D. in History at the time of appointment.
