In fall 2018, Werner Pfeiffer made a generous gift to the Lear Center of two set of prints from early in his career as a printmaker. Liber Mobile is a set of five portfolio prints featuring the alphabet as an element of abstract design, inspired by the work of Marshall McLuhan. The plates can be folded, combined, and layered to provide an almost infinite set of visual images. The second donation is a set of ten colorful serigraphic and embossed prints. Both sets will be used heavily in teaching and exhibition in the coming years.
