Aluka

Aluka is an international, collaborative initiative building an online digital library of scholarly resources from and about Africa. Shain Library has access to two collections: Struggles for Freedom in Southern Africa, and African Cultural Heritage Sites & Landscapes.

Black Studies Center

Access to Schomburg Studies on the Black Experience, International Index to Black Periodicals (IIBP), and The Chicago Defender. This cross-searchable gateway includes scholarly essays, recent periodicals and historical newspaper articles.

Credo Reference Collection

Credo Reference is a large online research tool that searches over 500 reference resources, as well as over 200,000 images and audio files and nearly 100 videos. Several music reference sources are also included in this database, including The Harvard Dictionary of Music.

ICPSR

ICPSR (Inter-University Consortium for Political and Social Research) maintains a data archive of more than 500,000 files of research in the social sciences. It hosts 16 specialized collections of data in education, aging, criminal justice, substance abuse, terrorism, and other fields.

PAIS International & Archive

Contains references to journal articles, books, government documents, and other materials covering political, economic, and social issues. Coverage: 1972 to the present.

Proquest Psychology Journals

This database provides abstracts and indexing for more than 640 titles, with over 540 titles available in full text. Many titles are indexed in PsycINFO. Coverage ranges from behavioral, clinical, cognitive, developmental, experimental, industrial and social psychology, along with personality, psychobiology and psychometrics.

Proquest Social Science Journals

This database offers indexing and full text for hundreds of academic journals, providing extensive coverage across a wide range of social science disciplines including anthropology, criminology, economics, education, political science, psychology, social work and sociology.

Roper Center Polling Data

The Roper Center for Public Opinion Research is one of the world's leading archives of social science data, specializing in data from surveys of public opinion. The data held by the Roper Center range from the 1930s, when survey research was in its infancy, to the present. Most of the data are from the United States, but over 50 nations are represented.

Science Direct

Covers resources in chemistry, materials science, engineering and technology, environmental science, pharmacology and toxicology, physics, math and computer science, earth sciences, biochemistry, microbiology and immunology, biological sciences, and clinical medicine. Coverage: 1995 - forward.

Scopus

Scopus is the largest abstract and citation database of research literature and quality web sources. It´s designed to find the information scientists need. Updated daily, Scopus offers: 15,000 peer-reviewed journals from more than 4,000 publishers, over 1000 Open Access journals, 500 conference proceedings, 33 million abstracts and seamless links to full-text articles and other library resources.

The entire US Census from 1790 to 2010.
