Campus Construction 2011-2012
New science building opened in Fall 2012
After the May 21, 2011, groundbreaking that kicked off construction of the new Science Center, the stone staircase outside New London Hall was dismantled and the sculpture outside the building, Synergy, was moved to storage for safekeeping during construction. In addition, a 500-foot well was drilled into Tempel Green to determine if geothermal energy would be viable for the Science Center. Data was collected over the course of several weeks. It was analyzed, the system deemed feasible, and installation began at the end of October.
