Surging Camels Cruise to Fourth Straight Win
MIDDLETOWN, Conn.--The Connecticut College volleyball team (12-3, 3-1) earned a 3-1 victory against Colby College (4-11, 0-4) in NESCAC volleyball action played at Wesleyan University Saturday.
The victory was the fourth straight for head coach Josh Edmed´s Camels. Colby dropped its seventh straight decision with the setback.
The Camels took the first two games of the match with decisive 25-12 and 25-16 wins. The Mules salvaged the third game in a 25-20 triumph but the Camels prevailed with a convincing 25-17 win to secure the match in the fourth game.
Sophomore Amy Newman (Los Angeles, Calif.) buried 10 kills to lead the Camels. Junior Chelsea Manning (Cockeysville, Md.) had five blocks. Marissa DeMais (Hillsdale, N.J.) racked up 31 assists with seven aces for Connecticut College.
The Camels are the sixth ranked team in the New England Women´s Volleyball Association (NEWVA) poll. NEWVA represents 74 Division III schools in New England.

The Connecticut College volleyball team (11-3, 2-1) cruised to a 3-0 victory against Bates College (8-3, 0-3) in NESCAC women´s volleyball action played at Wesleyan University Friday night. Senior Lauren Wise (Oakton, Va.) notched her 1,000th kill in the victory. Wise had 11 kills and seven digs in the triumph and has topped 1,000 kills and digs in her prolific playing career for the Camels.
The Camels won with game scores of 25-19, 25-19 and 25-23 en route to the blanking of the Bobcats. Rachel Schroff (Palos Verdes, Calif.) posted 10 kills for Connecticut College.
Junior setter Marissa DeMais tallied 35 assists and 12 digs for the Camels.
