Connecticut College Sweeps Pair of NESCAC Matches at Trinity
Surging Camels (17-4) Have Won Nine out of 10
HARTFORD, Conn.--The Connecticut College volleyball team continues to build momentum as they head towards the end of the regular and the team´s fifth straight appearance in the New England Small College Athletic Conference Championship Tournament. The surging Camels (17-4, 7-2) collected two more NESCAC victories this weekend and have been on the winning side in nine out of their last 10 outings.
Junior setter Marissa DeMais (Hillsdale, N.J.) dished out 38 assists with five aces to lead the Camels in a 3-0 blanking of host Trinity College (10-7, 4-3) at Oosting Gymnasium Saturday. The game scores were 25-19, 25-16, and 25-17. Sophomore Amy Newman (Los Angeles, Calif.) buried 16 kills and Ally Terlizzi (Mount Kisco, N.Y.) added 13 digs in the triumph.
Chelsea Manning (Cockeysville, Md.) fired home nine kills with just five errors on 14 attempts while anchoring the middle of the front line.
Amy Newman registered her sixth double-double of the season with 19 kills, 12 digs, and four aces in a 3-1 victory against Amherst College at Trinity Friday night. The Camels topped the Lord Jeffs with game scores of 25-20, 25-16, 21-25 and 25-21. Senior outside hitter Lauren Wise (Oakton, Va.) tallied 13 kills and 14 digs en route to her fifth double-double of the season.
Marissa DeMais distributed 46 assists and Ally Terlizzi added 19 digs with three aces for Connecticut College.
